You select a ministry on the basis of your program and ministry passions. We can advise you and connect you with opportunities. Your academic advisor can also help you, and don't forget the valuable input of your mentors back home.
Once you select a ministry, you enlist a ministry coach. Usually this is someone in a leadership role in your ministry. A number of student ministry leaders are certified to coach. Any pastor or lay leader in the church may coach.
Meet with your coach at the beginning of your ministry and design level appropriate growth objectives for the semester. Your coach signs-off for the first time, and you submit the Ministry Development Planner for approval. Continue faithful involvement throughout the semester and meet with your coach periodically. Make sure your weekly attendance and time invested is accurately recorded. During the final meeting with your coach, complete the Ministry Development Planner. This will include outcomes and future objectives recommended by your coach. There is a place for your coach to sign off, then you submit your completed Planner to Ministry Development.
Each set of future objectives provides a springboard into your next ministry so that each experience builds upon another.
